Tournaments - Royal Canadian Mounted Police
After a one-year hiatus the RCMP charity golf tour is back on the beat.
On May 30 the Dartmouth detachment will host its 22nd charity links event at the Lionshead Golf Club with the proceeds to benefit several local organizations. Tournament organizer RCMP S/Sgt.Jim Brown said he is excited to have the tournament back on line. 'It is such a fun day for the community,' said Brown. 'Response has been pretty good already.'
Proceeds from the tournament will be distributed between the Diamond Valley Boys' and Girls' Club, Citizens on Patrol and Rural Crime Watch. In addition, there are hopes, if the tournament is exceedingly successful, the RCMP can establish an annual scholarship fund for students at Dartmouth High School.
Cost for the tournament is $70 per player and includes 18 holes of golf, dinner and prizes. The fee is only $40 for members of the Turner Valley Golf Club.
Anyone interested in participating in the event can contact the Dartmouth RCMP detachment at 933-7227.
